GSO Metals is launching a fully certified anodizing and coating operation to serve the Mountain West. We’re currently raising $6.5M to activate production and meet validated market demand.
Wyoming and the broader Mountain West lack in-state access to certified metal finishing — forcing manufacturers to ship parts out-of-state for anodizing and coating. This drives up lead times, costs, and risk. As demand grows for precision metalwork in aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing, the absence of scalable local finishing options has become a bottleneck to growth and innovation across the region.
Our black oxide line is live and serving customers today, providing a fast and reliable solution for mild steel corrosion resistance and aesthetic treatment.
We will offer both decorative (Type II) and hard (Type III) anodizing for aluminum — critical for aerospace, firearms, medical, and high-performance applications.
Planned as a future capability, these thin-film coatings are in high demand for wear resistance and performance in defense, automotive, and medical components.
As part of our expansion, heat treating will allow us to meet demand from OEMs requiring metallurgical reliability in load-bearing or high-stress components.
GSO Metals isn’t starting from zero — we’ve validated the market, built customer relationships, and launched our first revenue-generating service. Our pipeline is growing, and facility development is well underway.
We’re raising $6.5 million to bring full-scale operations online. This includes equipment, facility buildout, certifications, and hiring — positioning GSO Metals as the region’s first advanced metal finishing hub.
“This isn’t just a startup — it’s an answer to a real supply chain need.”
